Located at an unassuming corner a few minutes walk away from Odenplan station, Greasy Spoon offers different lunch specials every week. At first glance, the place does not seem capable of producing scrumptious lunch fare.
Upon closer look, a menu peeps through from behind the glass. The cafe offers a variety of lunch specials for every single week, which comes with a complimentary tea or coffee.

At 1430 on a weekday, the cafe was close to empty, although online reviews did mention that waiting is inevitable during lunch hours. The yellow lighting and comfy cushioned seats provided an inviting and calm environment to chill with your friends over some delicious brunch/lunch fare.

The service was pretty speedy and my order of Strawberry & Lemon Ricotta Pancakes surprised me with its size. Of 3 thick, fluffy pancakes stacked atop one another, I caught a whiff of the strong buttery goodness.
The pancakes had a slightly crispy exterior whilst the insides were extremely soft and fluffy. This should be how all pancakes should be made. Certainly, the buttery aroma was addictive right to the very end. There was also a dollop of ricotta cheese smacked right at the top of the stack.
However, the amount of strawberry sauce was a little too overwhelming as the pancakes ended up being a little soggy at the end. By the time i got to the last bit of the last pancake, it no longer had the slightly crisp exterior layer which was a bit of a disappointment.
On the other hand, the rosti was pretty impressive with the right amount of crisp on the top of the potato layers. The pink sauce which was made of beetroot also complemented the savoury aspect of both the shredded potato and salmon slices.
OVERALL RATING: 7/10
For the lovely service, spacious and nicely decorated interiors and scrumptious lunch fare.
(Do note that the cafe is cashless- they accepts ONLY CARD.)
